COVID Safe Plan

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus. Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment, however others will require hospitalisation.

All Things Brumby is required to follow all rules and regulations set by the government.

As outlined in All Things Brumbies Infection control policy every employee will implement strict hygiene and infection control procedures at all times to prevent and minimize the spread of contagious diseases.

What must all community members do?

Comply with both Federal and State Government restrictions (Stage 1-4) and guidelines.

  • Practice good hygiene
  • Self-isolate if required
  • Keep 1.5m between each other
  • If unwell at all stay home

ATB staff, student, and attendee responsibilities

  • When you arrive at All Things Brumby please adhere to the directives which are posted on signs at the front entrance gates. Please remain in your car or at the gates (parents are to remain with their child), and a staff member will come and collect you at your lesson time.
  • At this time, we are asking parents not to come into All Things Brumby. The exception is students bringing their own horses and those with horses on agistment whose parents are taking duty of care. If students will not attend without a parent present we will allow one (1) adult to accompany the participant. However the adult must not participate in the lesson and must adhere to ATB general risk management practices.
  • Practice physical distancing (1.5m apart from another person) where possible
    • 1 staff member with student(s) in the tack shed at any one time.
  • When physical distancing is not possible
    • Staff will wash their hands or apply hand sanitizer after each interaction
    • Staff may also be wearing masks
  • Practice good hygiene
    • Students will not be accepted at ATB for lessons if they are unwell and have any of the following symptoms:
      • Fever
      • Cough
      • Sore throat
      • Shortness of breath
      • Fatigue
      • Aches and pains
      • Headache
      • Runny or stuffy nose
    • Students will not be accepted at ATB for lessons if they or any of their immediate family have been tested for COVID-19 and are waiting on a test result.
    • Staff/students/attendees may have their temperature taken on arrival.
    • Staff will not be allowed to come to ATB for work if they are unwell and have any of the above symptoms. A negative COVID-19 test will be required by ATB before staff can return to work.
    • Wash hands (follow instructions on hand washing poster)
    • Follow good hygiene measures to limit the spread of the virus
  • Cleaning will be increased and done in accordance with Safe Work Australia recommendations.
    • Equipment (saddles, bridles, halters, leadropes, brushes etc) will be cleaned before and after each use.
    • Gates, metal surfaces, door handles, toilet etc will be cleaned multiple times throughout the day.
  • Regarding lessons staff will be saddling and bridling horses to limit the contact of equipment.

All Things Brumby will review this policy as necessary to confirm its relevancy and to make any changes required by law.
